I went to the Brooks Brothers store today on Regent Street, to look at some of the ranges of clothing that have been used for The Great Gatsby Film.
It’s a very nice, large store with helpful staff. It’s a store for the well dressed AND well paid…I am not paid that well (and I think I dress well but that is down to opinion of course) so I left empty handed. There is some VERY nice stuff in there, so if you have the dosh and are inclined to spend vast sums on clothing, then definitely check them out.
If you haven’t heard of the film, it’s being released in the UK later this week, starring Hollywood heavyweight Leonardo diCaprio, Toby Maguire, and Carey Mulligan. You can watch the trailer by clicking on the link below
Whilst inside, I saw a man who looked cool, so approached him outside to take a quick shot. It turns out it was Tailor to the stars Mr Mark Powell! I told him he looked pretty damn dope!
Here in the UK, as soon as the sun hits, WAAAAYYYYYYYY to many people think the only way to dress is to remove as many layers as possible, and walk around in the smallest and tightest clothes possible. It is not a good look. This applies to both men and women.
It happens, I think, for 2 reasons.
The first that we don’t get too much really hot sunny weather in the UK so every town and city is seen as a beach. Secondly, the desire to get a real tan is so strong that people are prepared to walk the streets looking like a mess.
